Im Interview mit der Süddeutschen Zeitung vom 10.02.2021 beobachtet Philosoph und BMBF-Projektpartner Michael Reder ein wachsendes Bewusstsein für den sozialen Zusammenhalt.
Insbesondere die praktische Solidarität habe in der Pandemie an vielen Orten zugenommen: Über nachbarschaftliche oder familiäre Hilfen, Unterstützung pflegebedürftiger Angehöriger oder der Betreuung von Kindern. Insgesamt scheine damit trotz der zahlreichen und mit der Pandemie verbundenen Probleme auch das Bewusstsein, „‚Wir sitzen alle in einem Boot‘ […] gewachsen zu sein“.
