Zuletzt sprach BMBF-Projektmitarbeiter Mirko Broll bereits mit der Gewerkschaft ver.di über die Folgen der Pandemie für das Gesundheitswesen in Griechenland. Jetzt gab der Soziologe gegenüber Bento, dem „jungen Magazin des Spiegel“, einen weiteren Einblick in sein Projekt, das die Gesundheitsbewegung in Griechenland untersucht.
Im Interview betonte Broll den speziellen Charakter der Bewegung, die als Reaktion auf die Griechenlandkrise entstanden war. In ihr finden sich Ärzt:innen, Pfleger:innen und Renter:innen wieder, die in „solidarischen Kliniken“ Patient:innen ehrenamtlich betreuen. Dabei wolle die Bewegung die staatliche Gesundheitsversorgung keineswegs ersetzen , sondern beabsichtige vielmehr, das Menschenrecht auf Gesundheitsversorgung in das staatliche System zu überführen.
Dabei könnten wir von der Bewegung lernen. Sie unterscheide weder nach Erwerbstätgigkeit noch Staatsbürgerschaft. Damit bildete sie ein Modell der Gesundheitsversorgung, das automatisch auch die „Zwei-Klassen-Medizin“ in Deutschland kritisch hinterfrage.
